The winner of this competition was also presented with a brand new award, the Eunice Carey Perpetual Trophy. Eunice was fondly described as the "Goggin-Carrol Grandma" to all, loving and supporting each dancer as if they were her own. Eunice's daughter and granddaughter, dancer Jacqueline Boutillier, presented the trophy to Sarah in a emotionally touching presentation.

About the awards, and status update
No....it's not a graveyard.
It's a closer look at the feis' signature trophy, a replication of the Muiredach High Cross.
This unique, historical award is one that dancer's look forward to the chance to win.

8:30 a.m. - Opening Ceremonies - right on time
We're at the new home of the Oakville Feis at Pine Glen Indooor Soccer Centre as this amazing, spacious facility is well worth any minor inconveniences necessary to protect the amazing turf (the most "real" fake grass I've ever seen - a pic to come later!)
The Opening Ceremonies began with a presentation from Bill Allison, Volunteer on the Grant Review Committee of the The Ontario Trillium Foundation to Oakville Feis Chairperson, Virginia Fletcher. The generous grant allowed for the building of all new spacious stages, marly floor covering, musician sound components so dancers can better hear their music and signage
National Anthems were sung, and by 8:50 a.m. stages were underway. It looks as though the feis is off to a great start!
